Immersion in 6-Benzylaminopurine for Dormancy Release and Initiation of Potato Sprouts at Various Tuber Weight and Storage Duration

One of the main obstacles in providing quality potato seed tubers is long dormancy period seeds. A study that explores this has been carried out to elucidate response release and initiation sprouts differences tuber weight storage duration before immersion cytokinin (6-benzylaminopurine). The was conducted at warehouse UPT Horticulture Parent Seed Kutagadung Berastagi, Department Food North Sumatra Province, from November 2018 January 2019. research with a factorial completely randomized design two factors, namely (i) weight, consisting 4 levels [25-35 g, 55-65 85-95g, 115-125 g]; (ii) 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) solution, 5 [control (without immersion), 1, 15, 30, 45 days after harvest]. Tuber immersion, interaction factors showed significant effects breaking time, germination percentage, rate, number sprouts, length sprouts. increased increasing BAP.
